Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech (Travel/Contract)
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week (Friday, Saturday & Sunday), 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (3x12 hour shifts)
- Orientation: First week may include day shifts for orientation before night shift schedule begins
- Call: On-call required, approximately 3-4 days per month
- Floating: May float within the same campus buildings; no floating to sister facilities
- Daily caseload: Varies

Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technologist license in South Carolina
- Minimum 1 year of Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
- BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted)
- Experience as an X-Ray Technician
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Completed I-9 form and attestation of work eligibility in the US
- Copy of Driver’s License/State ID
- Copy of Social Security Card or SSN verification
- Background check within 1 year including: SSN trace, county searches, state and national criminal checks, sex offender registry, FACIS 3, and international searches if applicable
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Education verification or diploma/transcripts as placeholder if verification pending
- Primary source license verification showing active, unencumbered status
- Nursys verification for RNs as applicable
- Proof of 2 clinical references
- Work history verification of last 3 clinical employers (or fewer if applicable)
- Color blind testing prior to start
- Competency exams as applicable
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Facility-specific orientation modules and safety manual acknowledgment required before start
- Clear, passport-style badge photo required before start (frontal view, solid light background, business casual attire)
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands
- Fit test for N95 mask (O&M Halyard FLUIDSHIELD or 3M Aura 1870+) within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination form
- Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days or proof of prior positive with chest x-ray follow-up
- Annual TB questionnaire completion
- Proof of immunity or vaccination for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (vaccines or titers with boosters if low/negative)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series, titer, or declination form
- 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- Seasonal flu vaccine or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Aug 1 – Mar 31) with documentation uploaded before deadline; no declinations accepted
- COVID-19 vaccination highly preferred; if declined, must complete vaccination declination form (not uploaded)
- Sterile Processing Techs only: additional physical assessment form and lab panels (CMP and CBC with differential) required
Additional Notes
- Radiation badge processing may take 5-7 days; candidates cannot start floor duties without badge but may orient without it
- Radius rule: 60 miles; local candidates accepted at a reduced rate
- Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- Travelers must complete all required modules and documentation prior to orientation or risk being sent home
- Emergency response assignments possible during hurricane season (June-November)
