Description
Registered Nurse - Telemetry I
Location: Salem, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: Rotating Days/Evenings/Nights (including every other weekend)
Unit: 39-bed Medical/Telemetry Adult Inpatient Unit
Patient Population: Medical, low-risk cardiac patients
Patient Ratio:
- RN with PCA: 4-5 patients
- RN working alone: 3 patients
Job Description
- Provide nursing care on a medical/telemetry unit with 20 private and 19 semi-private rooms.
- Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips.
- Rotating shifts include day shifts (7a-7p, 11a-11p) and night shifts (7p-7a); night shifts do not rotate.
- Rotation frequency is low.
- Required skills: telemetry experience, telemetry strip interpretation, nursing assessment, medication safety and administration.
- Charting system: EPIC.
- Free on-site parking available.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Massachusetts
- Telemetry experience with a minimum of 2 years, including experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
