Description

Pediatric RN - Night Shift

Location: Charlestown, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night shift, 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Schedule: 32 hours per week, 4 nights per week, every other weekend


Job Description

  • Provide nursing care for pediatric patients during night shifts.
  • Work 4 nights per week with every other weekend required.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Massachusetts
  • Minimum of 2 years of pediatric nursing experience
  • Recent pediatric nursing experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Red Cross
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Fit Test: N95 respirator fit test within 365 days prior to start, updated annually.

    • Must be completed offsite; no onsite fit testing available.
    • No religious or medical exemptions allowed.
  • Respirator Medical Clearance: Attestation required as part of fit test documentation.

  • Immunizations:

    • Documentation of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR).
    • TB test (skin or blood test) within 3 months of start date, updated if break in service exceeds 6 months.
    • If positive TB test, chest x-ray documentation required to rule out active tuberculosis.
  • Health Statement: Physician-signed health statement within 365 days of start date, updated if break exceeds 6 months.


Background and Compliance Checks

  • Criminal Background Check: Within 45 days prior to start, updated if break exceeds 6 months. Includes county and international residence/employment history for last 7 years.

  • Massachusetts CORI Check: Completed within 30 days prior to start, updated if break exceeds 6 months.

  • Social Security Number Trace: Conducted with criminal background check, covering last 7 years of addresses and aliases.

  • National Sex Offender Registry Check: Completed within 30 days prior to start and updated annually.

  • Exclusion Checks: Screening against OIG, GSA, MassHealth, and NH Medicaid exclusion lists within 30 days prior to start and annually.


Documentation and Submission Requirements

  • Resume: Must include past 7 years of work experience with city and state for each position.

  • References: Two references within the last 4 years, including at least one supervisor or higher in the relevant skillset.

  • Skills Checklist: Completed within 1 year of submission.

  • Candidate Submission Coversheet: Required for initial assignment and new facility submissions.

  • Orientation: Completion of facility-specific orientation summary prior to onboarding.

  • Assignment Confirmation: Confirmation of assignment form required upon acceptance and for any changes in start date.

  • Name Change Documentation: If legal name differs from credential documentation, supporting legal documents must be provided.


Additional Notes

  • All required verifications and clearances must be current and maintained throughout the assignment.
  • No onsite fit testing or religious/medical exemptions for respirator fit testing are allowed.
  • Compliance with all Massachusetts Department of Public Health regulations is mandatory.
