Registered Nurse (RN) - Rehab

Location: Chesterfield, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Provide inpatient rehabilitation nursing care for adult patients recovering from strokes, brain or spinal cord injuries, amputations, multiple trauma, cancer, complex orthopedic injuries, and other conditions. Work collaboratively with therapists, physicians, specialists, and family members to improve patients' functional ability and quality of life.

Work Environment

• Facility with 81 private rooms
• Patient population: Adults (18+ years)
• Units include Stroke, Comprehensive, Medically Complex, Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury
• Patient ratios approximately 1:6-7 during the day and 1:8 at night, with each nurse supported by a dedicated tech
• Electronic Health Record system: Epic
• Float within 5 hospital units

Schedule

• Shift: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
• Weekly hours: Approximately 36 hours

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 2 years of rehabilitation nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) credential preferred
• Flexible, collaborative, and positive demeanor

• Scrub color: Black (agency-provided ID badge required)
• Report to Charge Nurse upon arrival
• Parking available in garage (upper level or back two rows of lower level)

Patient Care Focus

• Emphasis on improving movement patterns, strength, flexibility, functional ability, balance, and muscle tone
• Use of specialized equipment and therapy devices in dedicated stroke and brain injury units
• Supportive environment including pet therapy, outdoor healing garden, and family-friendly rooms with sleeper chairs
