• Role: Med Surg/Tele RN - 2EW Post Surgical
• Location: Marshfield, Wisconsin
• Facility: Marshfield Medical Center
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour days
• Hours per week: 36

Unit Details

• Department: Med Surg RN 2E
• Beds: 15
• Patient mix: Post-surgical patients including Ortho, Urology, GYN/ONC, Neurosurgery, Vascular Surgery, ENT, Plastics, and GI; acute medical patients with short anticipated length of stay may also be admitted
• Telemetry: Tele is present; strips are run and monitored by remote technicians
• RT support: Present; no acute vents

Required Qualifications

• BLS
• 1-2 years acute care nursing experience
• RN must titrate drips
• Must be able to float to other adult medical/surgical nursing units

Schedule

• RN shifts: 0700-1930, 1100-2330, 2300-0700
• Every other weekend
• Every other holiday
• No self-scheduling; block scheduling is used when possible based on staffing
• Call/standby not required

Additional Details

• Charge nurse on all shifts takes an assignment
• Nursing assistants are present
• Scrub color: any color, clean and professional
• Orientation includes 1 day of computer training and 1-2 precepted floor orientation based on skills
