    Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

    Location: Santa Rosa, California
    Facility: Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital
    Hospital System: Providence Health and Services - MSP
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Job Requirements & Details

    • Specialty: Registered Nurse
    • Experience: Minimum 2 years required
    • Hard-stop: Labor and post-partum experience is mandatory
    • First-timers: Not accepted
    • Shift Options: 4x12 shifts available upon request
    • Ratios: 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio
    • Orientation: 36 hours
    • Block Scheduling: Not available
    • Floating: Required to float between like units
    • Locals: Not accepted
    • Pending License: Not accepted
    • Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off once per two-week pay period

    Required Certifications

    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • AWHONN Intermediate
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

    Scheduling & Floating

    • Floating to other Providence facilities within a reasonable distance may be required.
    • Float Policy Acknowledgement is mandatory.

    Health & Compliance Requirements

    • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
    • Fit Mask test (N95 or equivalent), updated annually
    • Immunizations and titers:
      • TDAP (within 10 years or declination accepted)
      • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (updated annually)
      • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
      • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
      • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
    • Flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
    • COVID-19 vaccine or declination (required if onsite)
    • Respirator medical clearance (RespSafety) for travel candidates, updated annually

    Background & Verification

    • Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start, updated monthly
    • Minimum 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty within the last 3 years (supervisor references required)
    • Employment application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors)
    • Education verification required (nursing degree for RNs/LVNs)
    • Skills checklist updated annually (applicable units)

    Orientation & Training Modules

    • Completion of Providence-specific WorkRamp modules required prior to start, including:
      • Core modules for RN/LVN in California
      • Specialty-specific modules for L&D and other relevant units
      • Regional and facility-specific compliance and regulatory training
    • Epic training modules required (completion or transcript submission)

    Additional Notes

    • Candidates must submit required documentation at time of submission, including RTO (Return to Office) restrictions if applicable.
    • Facility may call off once per two-week pay period, so guaranteed hours are not absolute.
    • Travel nurses must comply with Providence’s floating policy and complete all required training and certifications before starting.

    This position is ideal for experienced labor and post-partum RNs who are comfortable with floating and working in a fast-paced acute care hospital environment using Epic for charting.
