Job Opportunity: RN Cath Lab (Travel)

Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Facility: Cleveland Medical Center, University Hospitals


Job Description

  • Work in the advanced and complex cardiac catheterization laboratory at UH Cleveland Medical Center.
  • Experience a variety of state-of-the-art procedures in coronary, peripheral, and structural heart disease, including hybrid structural and aortic interventions.
  • Roles include scrubbing, circulating, or monitoring cases.
  • Cleveland Medical Center is the only UH hospital performing Structural Heart procedures.

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • BLS (American Heart Association only)
  • ACLS (American Heart Association only)
  • Valid permanent RN license (Temporary licenses NOT accepted) with primary source verification within 30 days of start; must be updated every 2 years with license renewal.

Required Health & Safety Credentials

  • MMR: Positive titers within last 15 years; booster protocol if low titer.
  • Varicella: Positive titers within last 15 years; booster protocol if low titer.
  • Hepatitis B: Proof of full series, partial series with declination, or positive titers within 15 years.
  • Tdap: Proof of vaccination within past 10 years (declinations not accepted).
  • 2-Step PPD OR IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot): Negative results within last 6 months; annual requirement. If positive, clear chest x-ray and TB questionnaire required.
  • Fit Test: Completed within 1 year of start; specific mask types required.
  • Physical/Health Statement: Pre-employment physical exam within 1 year stating ability to work without restrictions.
  • Influenza Vaccine: Proof of vaccination (Oct-Mar) or approved medical/religious exemption (preferred, not required).

Professional & Compliance Requirements

  • Background Checks:
    • Ohio residents: Ohio fingerprints (BCI&I check) AND FCRA-compliant National Database Criminal background check.
    • Non-Ohio residents or less than 5 years in Ohio: Ohio fingerprints AND FBI fingerprint check (FCRA compliant).
    • Criminal background check within 6 months including SSN trace, county searches, national criminal sweep, and NSO.
    • OIG Search, SAM/EPLS/GSA/OFAC clearance within 6 months.
  • Drug Screen: 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start (no instant screens; lab report required).
  • Education Verification: Highest level of education verified; international education requires equivalency documentation.
  • Employment Verification: Verification of employment within last 5 years through third-party verification.
  • Competency Exams: Must score at least 80% on relevant department exams within 1 year prior to start.
  • Core Competencies: HIPAA, Joint Commission-NPSG, OSHA topics; 80% passing score required; completed once upon hire.
  • Skills Checklist: Clinical skill-specific checklist completed within 1 year prior to start (initial hire only).
  • I-9 Attestation: Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
  • Driver’s License/State ID: Non-expired ID required.
  • Badge Photo: Professional headshot required.
  • Module Completion Certificate: Completion of safety and compliance training modules prior to clearance.
