Description

Travel RN Opportunity – Labor & Delivery Unit

Location: Springfield, Tennessee
Facility Type: Hospital – Labor & Delivery Unit (up to 10 beds)

Unit Details

Unit: Labor & Delivery (L&D)
Patient Ratios: 1:3 to 1:6
Staffing: 1 nurse per shift, unit secretaries and tech availability
Equipment: GE Monitors
Documentation System: CPN
Scheduling: 3 night shifts per week
Floating Policy: Not applicable
Additional Support: Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) available 24/7

Experience & Skills Required

Minimum 1 year experience in Labor & Delivery (Level 2 experience preferred)
Postpartum experience required
Advanced skills:
- IV initiation
- Phototherapy
- Bubble CPAP maintenance
- Tube feeding
- Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) care
- Care for preterm babies
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) skills
- Management of low blood sugar babies

Procedures Performed on Unit

Lumbar punctures
Circumcisions
Medication administration through IV
Assisting Nurse Practitioners with various procedures

Certifications Required

BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
STABLE (post-resuscitation/pre-transport care of sick infants)
AWHONN certification preferred

Contract Length

Approximately 16 weeks

Uniform supplied for nurses
