    Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

    Location: Mission Viejo, California
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Job Description

    • Floating Expectations at Laguna Facility
    • Hospital experience required
    • Acute care experience required
    • All Return to Office (RTO) submitted upfront

    Required Certifications

    • ACLS (AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI; or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation)
    • BLS (AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI; or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation)
    • PALS (AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI; or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - Current certification by AAP, AHA, or Canadian Paediatric Society
    • CHEMO (Chemotherapy) - Verify if required
    • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) - AWHONN or NCC-EFM certification acceptable
    • IV Certification (for LVN/LPN/Other) - Verify if required
    • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) - Verify if required
    • NIH Stroke Certification - Required every 2 years unless otherwise specified
    • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - Verify if required
    • NURSYS Verification - Required for all RNs
    • State License Verification - Must be current and valid

    Required Background Checks & Verifications

    • Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start, updated monthly
    • HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start, updated monthly
    • Education Verification (3rd party) for all candidates; nursing degree verification for RNs/LVNs
    • State-specific searches as applicable (e.g., Washington WSP/WATCH, OBRA Registry for CNAs in WA)
    • Transcript/Diploma verification if international education or as needed
    • Drug Testing: 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
    • References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year employment in last 3 years (6 months for CNAs)
    • Employment Application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment

    Health & Immunization Requirements

    • Physical Exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
    • Fit Mask test (Travel only, new starts after 2/5/2024) - annual update required
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination
    • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 12 months, updated annually
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer or declination
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
    • Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer or declination
    • Flu Vaccine during flu season (9/1–3/30) or declination
    • COVID-19 Vaccine or declination (required if onsite)
    • Respiratory Safety Clearance (Travel only, new starts after 2/5/2024)

    Competencies & Exams

    • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
    • Competency Exams as required by specialty
    • Color Blind Testing if specifically requested
    • Medication Aide exam for CNAs with LTC specialty at Oregon Assisted Living facilities

    Facility Specific Requirements

    • Float Policy Acknowledgement: May be required to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance
    • Passport-style badge photo with neutral background may be required
    • Completion of Providence WorkRamp Core and Specialty Modules prior to start (varies by region and specialty)
    • Epic Access training modules required for certain regions and roles (especially Per Diem in SoCal, OR, Spokane)
    • System TB Questionnaire to be completed prior to start and updated annually

    Additional Notes

    • Candidates must comply with all Providence Health and Services policies and documentation requirements
    • Some requirements vary by region and facility; compliance with assigned modules and trainings is mandatory
    • Returning candidates with less than a 30-day gap may have some background and drug screen requirements waived if current and valid
