Job Description

Join a new Behavioral Health Hospital opening in Western Massachusetts, providing psychiatric, emotional, and substance use treatments. As a founding member, you will help develop a team dedicated to delivering quality care in a collaborative, empowered, and non-judgmental environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect care to patients, families, and legal guardians.
• Maintain a safe therapeutic milieu based on core behavioral health principles.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary treatment team.
• Contribute to individual treatment plans by developing, implementing, and documenting goals and interventions.
• Support patients using a trauma-informed recovery model.

Qualifications

• Education: Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts required; BSN preferred.
• Experience: Minimum one year psychiatric experience required; inpatient psychiatric/substance abuse experience preferred.
• Certifications: CPR certification required.
• Skills:

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Advanced knowledge of behavioral health and substance abuse treatment modalities.
  • Ability to develop therapeutic relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
  • Crisis management, time management, delegation, coaching, and team-building skills.
  • Flexibility, creativity, and ability to manage stressful situations calmly and professionally.
  • Experience with restraint reduction, de-escalation, and crisis intervention preferred.

Schedule & Additional Information

• Full-time schedule including every other weekend and every other holiday.
• Must be willing to float to similar or lower acuity units if needed.
• No additional pay multiplier for charge nurse responsibilities.
