Registered Nurse (Stepdown) - Travel/Contract
Location: Saint Joseph, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 3x12 hour nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Experience: Minimum 1 year required
- Education: BSN preferred
- Licensure: RN State License and/or Compact State Licensure required (pending license accepted but must be in hand prior to start)
- Certifications Required:
- BCLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- Charting System: EPIC
- Parking: Free
- Locals Accepted: Within 50-mile radius at reduced rate

Required Certifications & Competencies
- ACLS: AHA only (RQI acceptable)
- BLS: AHA (RQI acceptable) or ARC (must state "Basic Life Support")
- PALS: AHA only (RQI acceptable)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course): Required for Emergency Department RNs prior to start; ICU only if assignment exceeds 1 year
- Tech Cert Verification: Primary source verification within 30 days of start
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement: Required annually
- Pass/Fail Testing: Basic Dysrhythmia exam required for all RNs and LPN/LVNs; must score 84% or higher; ICU unit has a one-attempt policy
- State License Verification: Primary source verification within 30 days of start
- NURSYS Verification: Required
- IV Certification: Required for LPNs (must be valid in Missouri or accepted by Missouri)
- NIH Stroke Certification: Required annually for Acute Hospital RN/LPN/LVNs in specified units
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute): Preferred for first contract; required if extending contract, especially for Emergency Department and Mental Health staff
- Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required as applicable
- Competency Exam: Required as applicable
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required for Acute Hospital RNs and LPN/LVNs; initial exam must be within 1 year of start
Required Background & Documentation
- Driver’s License/State ID: Required
- Background Check: Must be run within 30 days of start, including national criminal, state, county, SSN trace, sex offender, FACIS Level 3
- EPLS/GSA/SAM Check: Required
- HHS/OIG Check: Required
- Education Verification: Official transcript or diploma with graduation date required
- State Specific Search: Missouri EDL Search required within 30 days of start
- References: 2 professional references within 3 years of start
- Skills Checklist: Required
- Work History Verification: Verification of most recent employer required
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical Exam: Physician statement within last 12 months (not required annually)
- Fit Mask Testing: Completed onsite at orientation
- TB Screening: Negative PPD, Q-Gold, or T-SPOT within 1 year and updated annually; if positive, chest x-ray within 6 months and annual TB questionnaire required
- Vaccinations:
- Rubeola (Measles): 2 MMR vaccines, positive titer, or declination
- Mumps: 2 MMR vaccines, positive titer, or declination
- Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines, positive titer, or declination
- Hepatitis B: Proof of vaccination series, titer, or declination
- Varicella: 2 vaccines, positive titer, or declination
- Drug Testing: Required within 30 days of start; must include multiple drug panels
- Flu Vaccination: Required during flu season or agency-approved medical/religious exemption; documentation deadline December 10 annually; declinations not accepted; mask required if exempt

- Arrhythmia Study Guide: Provided for pass/fail testing preparation
