Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Torrance, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Requirements
- Specialty: Registered Nurse
- Experience: Minimum 2 years acute inpatient experience required
- Department: ER Department Case Management experience required
- Additional Experience: Recent discharge planning experience required
- Start Dates: November 18, 2025, and December 2, 2025
- Schedule:
- Variable start times: 7:30 AM, 8:00 AM, or 8:30 AM
- Every other weekend required
- 40 guaranteed hours per week
- No on-call required
- No floating outside scope
- No block scheduling accommodation
- Local Candidates: Accepted within 50 miles radius
- Pending License: Not accepted
- Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: Maximum 10 days
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support): Required for all travelers
- Additional Certifications: Check unit-specific requirements; may include ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, NIH Stroke Certification, Chemotherapy certification, EFM, and others depending on unit
- Harassment Prevention Training Certificate: Required for all candidates
- State License Verification: Primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start; renewal plan needed if license expires during contract
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Flu Vaccine: Mandatory; no declinations accepted
- COVID-19 Vaccine: Not required but documentation of Monovalent vaccination or declination form must be completed
- Fit Mask Test: Required within one year of start for onsite candidates (specific mask types required)
- TB Testing: Negative TB test or chest X-ray required per standards
- Other Immunizations: Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella (immune titer, vaccine, or declination required)
- Drug Testing: Required within one year of start and updated annually (excludes Marijuana/THC starting 1/1/24)
Documentation & Compliance
- References: Two supervisor/manager references required within one year of start (one from current or most recent employer)
- Employment History: Complete 7-year work and education history with no gaps over 30 days
- Background Checks: Standard background check including SS trace, county searches, nationwide sex offender, education verification, and others as required
- Competency Exams: Specialty proof required, updated every 3 years with minimum 80% score
- Facility-Specific Documents: Includes orientation modules, safety and disaster preparedness quiz, timekeeping acknowledgment, conflict of interest policy, standards of behavior, meal break policy, attendance policy, and others—all must be reviewed and signed prior to start
Additional Notes
- First-time travelers accepted
- Home Health workers require driver's license/state ID and proof of auto insurance
- Medical or religious exemptions for flu vaccine require facility-specific forms submitted by deadlines
- Candidates must complete all required orientation and training modules prior to start
