Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery (L&D)
Location: Salinas, California
Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced
Contract Length: Approximately 13 weeks (90 days)
Job Description
- Provide individualized patient care in Labor & Delivery according to departmental policies and the Nurse Practice Act.
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and supervise patient care.
- Collaborate with physicians, patients/families, and healthcare team members to develop and deliver care plans.
- Perform nursing assessments and document appropriately.
- Manage discharge planning and patient/family teaching.
- Demonstrate skills in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Maintain professional standards through participation in inservices, committees, and performance improvement activities.
- Facilitate physiological, psychosocial, and spiritual care of patients.
- Use positive communication skills for conflict resolution and teamwork.
- Monitor use of time, equipment, and supplies to contribute to cost-effective care.
- Comply with safety policies to ensure a safe environment for employees, patients, and visitors.
- Demonstrate flexibility with changes in hospital or unit activities.
- Act as preceptor and charge nurse as assigned.
- Participate actively in achieving departmental goals.
- May be required to work on other nursing units based on staffing needs.
Experience & Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Labor & Delivery RN.
- Must have travel nursing experience.
- Minimum of 1 year clinical Registered Nurse experience preferred in specialty areas.
- California RN license required.
- Certifications required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - AHA
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system required.
This position requires a skilled and flexible RN with strong communication and leadership abilities, capable of providing high-quality care in a dynamic Labor & Delivery environment.
