Job Description

Required Certifications & Licenses
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification required.
- BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification required.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification required.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Current certification from AAP, AHA, or Canadian Paediatric Society.
- State License: Must hold a valid professional nursing license for California.
- NURSYS Verification: Required for all RNs.
- Other certifications may be required based on unit and clinical track (e.g., Chemotherapy, EFM, IV Certification, NIH Stroke Certification, CPI).
Required Background Checks & Verifications
- Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start, updated monthly.
- Education verification for nursing degree required.
- State-specific searches as applicable.
- Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests).
- References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting.
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
- Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) required for travel candidates, updated annually.
- Immunizations or documented immunity required for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- TB test (IGRA/TSPOT, QGold, or 2 PPDs within 12 months)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer
- Seasonal Flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
- COVID-19 vaccine or declination (required if onsite)
- Respiratory safety clearance required for travel candidates, updated annually.
Competency & Training Requirements
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable.
- Competency exams required by specialty/unit.
- Color Blind Testing if required by unit.
- Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units.
- Epic training modules required prior to or shortly after start.
- Completion of Providence WorkRamp modules (Core, Specialty, Regional) as assigned based on profession and location.
Additional Requirements
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors).
- Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable.
- Floating policy acknowledgment required.
