Description

Job Opportunity: RN ICU - Long Term Assignment

Location: Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts
Specialty: Registered Nurse - ICU
Employment Type: Long Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: January 5, 2026
Schedule: 36 hours per week, Day/Night rotation, including weekend rotation
Housing: Shared housing available (no pets or guests allowed)
Transportation: Car required
Vaccination: Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)


Key Requirements and Credentials

Licensure & Certifications

  • Professional License:
    • Primary source verification required within 30 days of start date.
    • MA Conditional Licenses not accepted.
    • Both NURSYS and Board of Nursing verification required.
  • BLS Certification:
    • Required prior to onboarding. Acceptable from AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military.
  • Respirator Fit Test:
    • N95 fit test required within 365 days of start date and updated annually.
    • Must be completed offsite using the MGB N95 Respirator Fit Test Record Form.
  • Additional Certifications (Preferred/Optional):
    • Tdap vaccine within 10 years (preferred).

Health & Immunization

  • MMR:
    • Documentation of two doses each of measles, mumps, and rubella vaccines or two MMR vaccines, or proof of immunity via blood test.
  • Hepatitis B:
    • Strongly preferred; record of 3 vaccines or proof of immunity or declination.
  • Influenza Vaccine:
    • Required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30), no exemptions allowed.
  • TB Testing:
    • Documentation of TB skin test or negative QuantiFERON/T-spot blood test within 3 months of start date.
    • Updated if there is a break in service longer than 6 months.
  • Health Statement:
    • Physician statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date, updated if >6 month break.
  • Positive PPD:
    • If positive TB test, chest x-ray documentation showing no active TB required.
  • Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation:
    • Required as part of fit test documentation.

Background & Compliance Checks

  • Criminal Background Check:
    • Within 45 days prior to start date, including county and international searches if applicable.
  • Massachusetts CORI Check:
    • Completed within 30 days prior to start date and updated if >6 month break.
  • Social Security Number Trace:
    • Must be run with criminal background check covering last 7 years.
  • National Sex Offender Registry Check:
    • Within 30 days of start and updated annually.
  • Exclusion Checks:
    • Includes OIG, GSA, MassHealth, and NH Medicaid lists; updated annually.
  • Education Verification:
    • Verified through background check company for highest level of education.

Documentation Required for Submission

  • Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state.
  • Two recent references (minimum one supervisor or above in skillset).
  • Skills checklist.
  • Candidate submission coversheet.

Additional Notes

  • Shared housing requires signing the MGB MVH Housing Agreement.
  • No religious exemptions for flu vaccine or fit testing.
  • Fit testing updates can be done onsite only if assignment is extended beyond original contract.
