    Job Description

    Seeking a Cath Lab Nurse proficient in:

    • Diagnostic cath lab procedures
    • Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI)
    • Structural heart procedures
    • Electrophysiology

    Shift:

    • 4 shifts of 10 hours each (09:00 - 17:30)
    • Weekend call required

    Contract Length:

    • 13 weeks

    Requirements

    • Current California RN License
    • Minimum 3 years experience as a Cath Lab RN
    • BLS (AHA) certification
    • ACLS certification

    Certifications & Competencies

    • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - as applicable
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - Instructor or Advanced Provider Course for NICU; Essential Provider acceptable for L&D
    • CCRN (Critical Care RN) - verify by position
    • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - valid for 4 years
    • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) - typically required for L&D
    • NIH Stroke Certification - verify by position
    • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - verify by position
    • Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam - as applicable
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam - as applicable
    • Other certifications as required by position

    Licensure & Verification

    • State RN License verification within 30 days of start
    • NURSYS verification within 30 days of start (for RN, LPN/LVN, AP)
    • Education verification (highest level achieved) required unless highest is high school
    • Official transcripts/diplomas may be required if verification attempts fail

    Background Checks & Screening

    • 7-year background check within 6 months of start, including:
      • SSN Trace with all aliases
      • County searches for last 7 years
      • Nationwide sex offender search (within 90 days of start)
      • Education verification
      • FACIS Level 3 screening within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter
      • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks, updated annually
      • OFAC Sanctions List search if FACIS III cannot be run
    • Pending background check attestation not accepted for this facility
    • Employment history verification for last 7 years required with no gaps over 30 days

    Health & Immunization Requirements

    • Physical exam within 1 year of start (must clear candidate for work)
    • Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (specific mask types required)
    • Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 90 days of start; annual renewal required
    • Immunity or vaccination documentation for:
      • Rubeola (Measles)
      • Mumps
      • Rubella
      • Hepatitis B (series or declination)
      • Varicella
    • Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per CA law)
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30)
    • Color blindness exam if applicable (in-person exam only)
    • Respiratory safety clearance prior to start, renewed annually

    Facility Specific Documents & Compliance

    • Candidate must review and sign:
      • Job description
      • Standards of Business Conduct
      • Confidentiality Agreement
      • General Regulatory Orientation for Contracted Workers
      • Vendor Training and Code of Conduct (2024 and 2025 versions as applicable)
      • Overpayment Refund Policy (2024 and 2025 versions as applicable)
    • TB Screening Questionnaire within 90 days of start, renewed annually
    • Religious exemption forms required for PAPR use and certain vaccine exemptions (case-by-case approval)
    • Photo for badge (passport-style photo) required

    Additional Notes

    • Employment application must include full 7 years of work history with no gaps
    • References required by Aya Healthcare (not by facility)
    • Some certifications and competencies may be position-specific; verify with recruiter or manager
    • Facility does not allow conditional clearances; all background checks must be completed prior to start
