    Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

    Job Details

    • First-timers: Accepted with Clinical approval
    • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (EOW)
    • Call: Not required
    • Floating: May be required to float between like units based on need
    • Charting System: Epic
    • Parking: Free parking on first day; assignment parking provided during orientation

    Job Description

    • Must have acute care experience.
    • Case Management role.
    • Floating between units may be required based on need.
    • Opportunity to work in a scenic location near 7 state and national parks, including Redwood forests and coastal areas.

    Required Certifications

    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Current certification by AAP, AHA, or Canadian Paediatric Society
    • Chemotherapy certification (if applicable)
    • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification (if applicable)
    • IV Certification (for LVN/LPN/Other as applicable)
    • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) (if applicable)
    • NIH Stroke Certification (renew every 2 years)
    • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification (if applicable)
    • State License (RN license valid in California)
    • NURSYS Verification (for all RNs)

    Required Background and Compliance Checks

    • Background Check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start, updated monthly
    • HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start, updated monthly
    • Education Verification (3rd party) for nursing degree
    • State-specific searches as applicable (Washington/Oregon if applicable)
    • Drug Testing: 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
    • References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty within last 3 years
    • Employment Application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format

    Health Requirements

    • Physical Exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
    • Fit Mask test (N95 or equivalent) required for travel starts after 2/5/2024, updated annually
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination
    • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 12 months, updated annually
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with acceptable documentation
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer with acceptable documentation
    • Seasonal Flu Vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
    • COVID-19 Vaccine or declination
    • Respiratory Safety Clearance (RespSafety) for respirator use, medically cleared annually

    Competency Requirements

    • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
    • Competency Exams as required by specialty
    • Color Blind Testing (if required by unit)
    • Skills Checklist updated annually (clinical specialties)
    • Medication Aide exam for CNAs in LTC specialty at specific Oregon facilities

    Facility Specific Training and Modules

    • Completion of Providence WorkRamp Core Modules prior to start (varies by profession and region)
    • Specialty-specific WorkRamp Modules for ER, L&D, Leadership roles, and others as applicable
    • Epic training modules required, with transcript submission prior to moving to Paid Day Work status
    • Annual Regulatory Modules required for all caregivers
    • Additional annual and specialty-specific modules as required by Providence system and region

    Additional Notes

    • Floating Policy: Acknowledgement required; may float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance
    • Housing assistance available, including realtor support if needed
    • Free parking on first day, with assignment parking provided during orientation
