Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Manchester, New Hampshire
Specialty: Registered Nurse (ER with Pediatric focus)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
- Fast-paced Emergency Room with a strong pediatric presence
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
- Pediatric experience highly preferred
- First-time travelers not accepted
- Epic electronic health record experience required
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), 36 hours per week
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
- No call requirement
- Floating expectations include ICU and ED for helping hands and patient sitting
- Team nursing approach; nurses will not take patients outside their clinical assignment or team
Patient Population & Diagnoses
- All ages, from simple to complex cases
- Common diagnoses include:
- Minor cuts and scrapes
- Fractures
- Abdominal pain
- Chest pain
- Respiratory concerns
- Oncological, neurological, trauma, psychiatric emergencies
- Abuse/assault/neglect evaluations
- Substance use disorder
- GI/GU/OB issues
- Sepsis

- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- General ER skills:
- Adult and pediatric emergency care
- Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Triage

- Average daily census: 70 patients
- Visits per day: 160

- Point of Care Ultrasound (US/USGPIV)

- Unit systems: Omnicell, Epic, SBAR, Voalte
- Orientation: 36 hours to 1 week (classroom and clinical)
- Scrubs: Any color
Background & Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 30 days of start including:
- Social Security verification
- National sex offender registry
- National and state criminal searches (excluding NH counties; NH state police search required)
- Education verification
- BEAS State Registry (NH placements)
- Drug screen: 10-panel within 14 days of start
- Physical exam within 1 year prior to start
- Fit mask test annually (N95 or equivalent)
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tdap (within last 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (with 2-step PPD or equivalent)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B immunity or waiver
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Seasonal flu vaccination (required Oct 31 - Apr 1; exemptions allowed with documentation)
- Respiratory safety clearance questionnaire required
- Pass/fail testing for dysrhythmia and medication competency may be required depending on unit
- Two professional references within last 3 years required (one must be a supervisor)
- Employment application and skills checklist required
- Annual internal evaluation for travelers working 1+ year with Aya
Additional Notes
- Travelers who have previously worked for any facility associated with this health system are not eligible
- Floating to ICU and ED for helping hands and patient sitting is expected
- No patient assignments outside of clinical team
- Religious and medical exemptions for vaccines require facility-specific waiver forms and approval
- Background and credentialing documents must be uploaded with appropriate expiration dates as specified
This position is ideal for experienced ER nurses with pediatric skills who are comfortable in a fast-paced environment and have prior travel nursing experience.
