    Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

    Location: Eureka, California
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Job Details

    • Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-timers accepted with clinical approval)
    • Weekend Requirements: Work every other weekend (EOW)
    • Call: Not required
    • Floating: May be required to float between like units based on need
    • Charting System: Epic
    • Locals Accepted: Yes

    Job Description

    • Must have acute care experience.
    • Case management duties included.
    • Free parking on the first day; assignment parking provided during orientation.
    • Facility is near 7 state and national parks, offering outdoor and nature activities.
    • Facility assists with housing, including realtor support if needed.

    Required Certifications

    • ACLS (AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification)
    • BLS (AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification)
    • PALS (if applicable)
    • NRP (if applicable)
    • Chemotherapy certification (if applicable)
    • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification (if applicable)
    • State License (valid for California)
    • NURSYS Verification (for RNs)
    • Other certifications as required by clinical track or unit

    Required Background and Compliance Checks

    • Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start, updated monthly
    • Education verification for nursing degree
    • State-specific searches as applicable
    • Drug testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
    • Immunizations and health documents:
      • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination)
      • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
      • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
      • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
      • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
      • Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
      • COVID vaccine or declination
    • Respirator safety clearance (RespSafety) for travel candidates, updated annually
    • Fit mask testing (N95 or equivalent), updated annually

    Required Documentation

    • Employment application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors)
    • Minimum 2 references from supervisors covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting (6 months for CNAs)
    • Skills checklist updated annually (if applicable)
    • Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background)
    • Completion of required WorkRamp training modules prior to start, including:
      • Core modules for RN in California
      • Specialty-specific modules as applicable
      • Annual regulatory modules

    Additional Notes

    • Floating policy acknowledgment required; may float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance.
    • Facility offers support for housing and is located near multiple outdoor recreational areas.
    • First-time travelers accepted as Screen with clinical approval.

    This position is ideal for RNs with at least 2 years of acute care experience looking for a travel contract in a scenic California location with supportive housing resources and a structured orientation process.
