Description
Job Opportunity: RN Labor and Delivery
Location: Newton, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- 36-hour rotating shifts (Day: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM; Night: 7:15 PM - 7:15 AM)
- Rotation based on unit needs, not guaranteed
- Every other weekend and rotating holidays
Experience Requirements
- Labor and Delivery experience is required
- Years of experience: Not explicitly stated, assume minimum 1+ year based on specialty requirement
Certifications and Licenses Required (Must be current and valid)
- Registered Nurse (RN) license (Primary source verification required; MA Conditional Licenses not accepted)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military certification accepted
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military certification accepted
- MGB Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) – AWHONN certified, 2-year renewal required
Health and Safety Requirements
- Fit Test for N95 respirator within 365 days of start date (no religious exemptions)
- Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30), no exemptions
- TB test (skin test or blood test) within 3 months of start date, updated if >6 month break
- MMR vaccination or proof of immunity
- Health statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date, updated if >6 month break
- Positive PPD requires negative chest x-ray documentation (if applicable)
- Hepatitis B vaccination strongly preferred (3 doses or proof of immunity or declination)
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
Background and Compliance Checks
- Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start, updated if >6 month break
- Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start, updated if >6 month break
- Social Security Number trace for past 7 years
- National Sex Offender Registry check within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
- Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
- Education verification of highest level achieved
- References: 2 recent references required, at least 1 supervisor or above in skillset
