Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Registered Nurse
- Required Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in Acute Care Case Management/Discharge Planning
- Behavioral health experience does not apply.
- Must have prior hospital experience.
- Prior Travel Experience: Required (seasoned traveler only; no first-time travelers)
Licensing
- Must have a valid California state nursing license upon start date.
- Pending license accepted only if licensed by start date.
Certifications (Must be current and verifiable)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Chemotherapy Certification (if applicable)
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) Certification (if applicable)
- IV Certification (if applicable)
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) (if applicable)
- NIH Stroke Certification (every 2 years)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) (if applicable)
- State License Verification (including NURSYS for RNs)
Note: Certification requirements may vary based on unit and specialty; verify with clinical tracks or unit directives.
Compliance & Background Requirements
- Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years.
- Education verification required for all candidates.
- Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests).
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal Flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
- COVID vaccine or declination
- Respirator safety clearance required for travel candidates (annual).
- Fit mask testing required for travel candidates (annual).
Additional Requirements
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty within the last 3 years.
- Employment application covering at least the last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors).
- Skills checklist updated annually (if applicable).
- Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background).
- Completion of required WorkRamp training modules prior to start, including:
- Core modules for RN profession in California
- Specialty-specific modules based on unit (ER, ICU, L&D, etc.)
- Regional and facility-specific compliance modules
- Epic training modules (if applicable)
Work Environment
- Business attire or scrubs as dress code.
- No floating to other units expected.
- Return to work restrictions: No more than 7 days.
