Job Description

Specialty: Registered Nurse
Unit: Labor and Delivery (Nights)
Experience Required: 2 years in specialty
Certifications Required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA certified
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA certified
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- AWHONN or C-EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)

Standard background check (7-year search including SS trace, county searches, nationwide sex offender)
EPLS/GSA/SAM check
HHS/OIG check
Transcript/Diploma or Education Verification

Certifications

ACLS (AHA)
BLS (AHA)
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - based on specialty
State License verification (primary source online verification)
Fire Card (must be obtained within 30 days of start date, issued by LAFD-approved instructor)

Competencies

Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for all RNs)
Competency Exam as applicable by profession (must meet or exceed passing score)

Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (2-step PPD, QGold, or T-SPOT)
Proof of immunity or vaccination for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
9-panel drug screen within 1 year
Seasonal flu vaccination or declination (September - March)
Color vision exam (Ishihara test) required for specific departments including Labor & Delivery
COVID vaccination plus booster
