Job Description
- Specialty: Registered Nurse
- Unit: Labor and Delivery (Nights)
- Experience Required: 2 years in specialty
- Certifications Required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA certified
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA certified
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- AWHONN or C-EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
- Locals Accepted
Requirements & Compliance
Background Checks
- Standard background check (7-year search including SS trace, county searches, nationwide sex offender)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check
- HHS/OIG check
- Transcript/Diploma or Education Verification
Certifications
- ACLS (AHA)
- BLS (AHA)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - based on specialty
- State License verification (primary source online verification)
- Fire Card (must be obtained within 30 days of start date, issued by LAFD-approved instructor)
Competencies
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for all RNs)
- Competency Exam as applicable by profession (must meet or exceed passing score)
Facility Specific Documents
- Photo for badge
- Signed job description
- Assault Responsive Competency (ARC) training within 30 days of start date (live 4-hour training)
- Access form
- Voluntary meal waiver
- Arbitration agreement
- De-escalation modules attestation (required for Emergency Department and CNAs)
Health Documents
- Physical exam clearance within the past year
- Fit mask test (3M Aura 9205+ or 3M1860s)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (2-step PPD, QGold, or T-SPOT)
- Proof of immunity or vaccination for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- 9-panel drug screen within 1 year
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination (September - March)
- Color vision exam (Ishihara test) required for specific departments including Labor & Delivery
- COVID vaccination plus booster
