Job Description

Specialty: Registered Nurse – Cath Lab
Required Experience: 2 years in specialty
Certifications Required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – Must be AHA certified
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Must be AHA certified
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Required based on specialty, must be AHA certified
Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

Background Checks & Verifications

Standard background check (7-year search of locations lived/worked/school)
EPLS/GSA/SAM check
HHS/OIG check
Transcript, diploma, or education verification required
Primary source online verification of state license

Competencies & Exams

Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for all RNs)
Competency Exam as applicable by profession (must meet or exceed passing score)

Fit mask test (3M Aura 9205+ or 3M1860s)
Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination
Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (2-step PPD, QGold, or T-SPOT)
Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
Hepatitis B series or positive titer
Varicella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
9-panel drug screen within 1 year
Seasonal flu vaccination or declination (September - March)
Color vision exam (Ishihara test) required for certain departments including Cardiac Cath
COVID vaccination plus booster

Additional Notes

Fire Card issued by an LAFD-approved instructor must be obtained within 30 days after start date
Employment application and annual skills checklist required
