Job Description

• Labor and Delivery, Day Shift

• Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty required

• Certifications required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - Must be AHA certified
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - Must be AHA certified
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • AWHONN or C-EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)

• Locals accepted

Experience Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery
• Required years of experience: 2 years
• No explicit mention of prior travel experience required

Required Certifications and Competencies

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• AWHONN or C-EFM certification
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) may be required based on specialty
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
• Competency Exam as applicable
• Fire Card issued by an LAFD-approved instructor (must be obtained within 30 days of start)
• Assault Response Competency (ARC) training (live 4-hour training onsite, to be completed within 30 days of start)

Licensure and Background Checks

• Valid State Nursing License verification required
• Standard background check including 7-year search of locations lived/worked/schooled
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• Transcript, Diploma, or Education Verification required
• Employment application required

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam clearance within the past year
• Fit mask test (3M Aura 9205+ or 3M1860s)
• Immunizations and tests required:

  • Tdap vaccine or declination
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
  • Hepatitis B series or positive titer
  • Varicella (Chickenpox) immunity
  • 9-panel drug screen within 1 year
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination (September - March)
  • COVID vaccination plus booster
• Color vision exam (14 Plate Ishihara Test) required for certain departments

• De-escalation modules attestation required for Emergency Department and CNAs
