Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Burlingame, California

Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide support to Pediatricians, Neonatologists, and Registered Nurses in the NICU/LDRP setting.
- Follow defined procedures under the supervision of a Charge Nurse.
- Integrate education, technical competence, and patient interaction skills to deliver safe and precise treatment.
Requirements
- California RN License (CA RN License)
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (Instructor or Advanced Provider Course required for NICU RNs)
- Minimum of 2 years NICU experience preferred (highest required years of experience)
Certifications (Must Have)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - AHA/AAP only; Instructor or Advanced Provider Course required for NICU RNs
- CCRN (Critical Care RN) - verify by position
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - valid for 4 years
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) - typically required for L&D
- State License Verification (Primary source online verification within 30 days of start)
- NURSYS Verification (for RN) within 30 days of start
Background Checks & Compliance
- 7-year background check required within 6 months of start, including SSN trace, county searches, sex offender search, education verification, and FACIS Level 3 screening.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, OFAC Sanctions List, and Medi-Cal Suspended and Ineligible Provider List checks required and updated annually.
- Sex Offender Search must be run within 90 days of start.
- Pending background check attestation not accepted for this facility; no conditional clearances allowed.
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical Exam within 1 year of start (must state "cleared for work" or equivalent)
- Fit Mask Test within 1 year, renewed annually (specific mask types required)
- Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years (medical or religious exemptions considered)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start; TB questionnaire required within 90 days and renewed annually
- Immunizations or positive titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (series or declination)
- Varicella
- Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law)
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination or signed declination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30)
Competency Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
- Competency Exam with minimum passing score of 80% (or Angoff score if higher)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam may be required depending on unit
