    Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU Travel Contract

    Location: Crescent City, California
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Position Details

    • Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU
    • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    • Minimum Specialty Experience Required: 2 years
    • Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required
    • Education: BSN required
    • Licensure: California RN License required
    • Certifications Required:
      • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
      • BLS (Basic Life Support)
      • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
    • Work Schedule: Every other weekend required
    • On Call/Call Off based on census

    Background and Compliance Requirements

    • 7-year background check required within 6 months of start
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, FACIS Level 3, Sex Offender Search, OFAC Sanctions List, and other federal/state screenings required and must be updated annually or as specified
    • Education verification including official transcripts/diplomas (BSN preferred)
    • Drug testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law)
    • Physical exam required within 1 year of start
    • Fit mask test required within 1 year of start, renewed annually
    • Immunizations and health screenings required:
      • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
      • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
      • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella immunization or titers as per facility policy
      • Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (11/1 - 4/30) or signed declination
    • Respiratory safety clearance required prior to start and renewed annually
    • References: 2 professional references required (Aya requirement, not client)
    • Employment history: Full 7 years of work history required with no gaps over 30 days; verification required

    Additional Certifications (Position Dependent)

    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
    • CCRN (Critical Care RN)
    • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
    • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
    • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
    • NIH Stroke Certification
    • Other certifications as applicable based on unit and role

    Competency Exams

    • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
    • Unit-specific competency exams (e.g., Telemetry for ICU nurses)
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (may be required)

    Facility Specific Requirements

    • Candidate must review and sign facility-specific documents including:
