Registered Nurse - Cath Lab (Travel/Contract)
Location: Burlingame, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
Seeking a Cath Lab Nurse proficient in:
- Diagnostic cath lab procedures
- Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI)
- Structural heart procedures
- Electrophysiology
Shift:
- 4 shifts of 10 hours each (4 x 10)
- Shift hours: 0900-1730, with variable start times between 0730 - 1000
- Weekend call required
Requirements
- California RN Licensure
- BLS (AHA or ARC)
- ACLS (AHA or ARC)
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Cath Lab RN
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
Certifications & Competencies
- BLS and ACLS required (AHA or ARC only)
- Other certifications may be position-dependent (verify with employer)
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exams as applicable
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency may be required for some units
Background Checks & Compliance
- 7-year background check required within 6 months of start
- Sex offender search within 90 days of start
- FACIS Level 3 screening required within 2 weeks of start, then monthly updates
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required and updated annually
- Education verification required (Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred)
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law)
- References: 2 professional references required (Aya requirement, not client)
- Full 7 years of work history required on application with no gaps
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (must clear candidate for work)
- Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (specific mask types required)
- Immunizations required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: proof of immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B series or signed declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30) or signed declination
- Drug testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids)
Facility Specific Documents & Orientation
- Candidate must review and sign facility-specific documents prior to start, including:
- Job description
- Standards of Business Conduct
- Confidentiality Agreement
- Vendor Training and Code of Conduct (2024 and 2025 versions)
- TB Questionnaire (within 90 days of start, renewed annually)
- Conditional Offer of Employment Attestation
- Religious exemption forms if applicable
