Job Summary: CT Technologist (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: Antioch, California

Job Description

• Coordinate and produce quality computerized tomography (CT) studies and assist in CT-guided procedures.
• Demonstrate critical thinking skills, knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy/physiology, radiation safety, venipuncture, and safe medication administration (contrast media and adjunct medications).
• Operate sophisticated imaging and ancillary equipment safely to produce quality CT procedures.
• Ensure accurate documentation, image transmission/storage, and professional communication.
• Work with patients across all age groups: neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric, including high-risk and critically ill patients.
• Perform venipuncture and medication administration with a focus on safety and effectiveness.
• Educate patients and address concerns prior to CT exams.
• Use Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) proficiently to transmit, archive, and retrieve digital images.
• Accurately document care in the electronic health record (EHR).

Work Schedule:

• Friday to Monday, 10pm - 8am

Required Education & Certifications

• Graduation from a Joint Commission approved School of Radiologic Technology (or equivalent experience accepted).
• Associate's degree in Radiologic Sciences preferred.

Certifications required upon hire:

• ARRT - Radiography (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
• ARRT - CT
• CRT - Certified Radiologic Technologist
• IV Certification
• BLS - Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
• RHF - Radiology Fluoroscopy (within 180 days of hire)

Experience Requirements

• Previous experience in an acute care facility preferred.
• Years of experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum 2 years in specialty based on typical requirements for CT Technologists.

Skills and Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and technical imaging factors.

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year background check including SSN trace, county searches, sex offender search, education verification, and FACIS Level 3 screening.
• Annual updates required for EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and FACIS screening.
• Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law).
• TB screening: Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 90 days of start, renewed annually.
• Immunizations: Must meet requirements for Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and seasonal flu vaccination during flu season. Religious and medical exemptions considered with proper documentation.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start.
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually.
• Completion of facility-specific regulatory orientation and compliance documents prior to start.

Additional Notes

• Candidate must review and sign facility-specific documents including Standards of Business Conduct, Code of Conduct, Vendor Training, and Conflict of Interest Policy prior to start.
• Must provide full 7 years of work history with no gaps over 30 days.
• Unit-specific skills checklist and competency exams may be required.
• Access to Protected Health Information (PHI) as necessary for job duties.
• Non-supervisory role focused on patient care across all age groups.
