Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Cath Lab RN)
Location: Whittier, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift Details
- Shift: 07:00 AM - 03:30 PM
- Weekends: Every other weekend
- Call: Minimum 1 day per week, possibly 2 depending on vacation/sick calls
- Weekend call: At least 1 weekend per month, with opportunities to pick up more

- Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE)

- Insertion/Programming of AICDs (Automatic Implantable Cardiac Defibrillators)
- Pacemaker Insertion
- Tilt Table Study
- Administration and monitoring of antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, emergency medications, IV vasopressors, thrombolytics
- Procedural Sedation Administration/Monitoring and Reversal agents
- Assist with Central Line Insertion/management
- Blood Product Administration
- IV infusion pumps, starting and maintaining IVs
- Obtain 12 lead EKG/ECG and Activated Clotting Time (ACT)
- Circulate Procedures
- Use of External Compression Devices (C-Clamp, Sandbags)
- Infection Prevention
- Interpretation/Management of Dysrhythmias

Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Cath Lab)

- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: Positive titer or 2 lifetime vaccines required (declination possible with form)
- Hepatitis B: 3 dose vaccine series, positive titer, or declination
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination or facility-specific declination (required during flu season)
- COVID Vaccination or facility-specific declination (required during flu season)
- Harassment Prevention Training (1 hour for non-supervisory positions)
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) or Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) training with in-person component required for ER and ICU RNs (can pend start if online version on file)
- Pass/Fail Testing:
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exams required within 72 hours of signing (two attempts allowed)
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- References: Two professional references from Manager or above, validated within 2 years
- Employment Application/Resume with at least 1 year of relevant experience and 7 years of work history
Additional Notes
- Facility-specific onboarding includes completion of Oracle modules prior to start
- Photo for badge required (white background, shoulders up)
- Facility requires completion of Interim Life Safety Measures prior to start
- Some competencies and certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (e.g., PALS, NRP, EFM for other specialties)
This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab RNs comfortable with a wide range of advanced cardiac procedures and who meet the comprehensive compliance and certification requirements.
