    Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Case Manager

    Location: Mission Hills, California
    Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Job Description

    • Start Date: ASAP
    • Floating Expectation: No
    • Patient Ratios: 1:20
    • Required Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care hospital case management experience, specifically in care coordination and discharge planning. Hospital experience is mandatory.
    • First-Time Travelers: Accepted (clinical screening required)
    • Weekend Requirement: Weekend rotation plus meeting department needs
    • Licensing: California state license required. Pending licenses accepted only if licensed by start date.
    • Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: No more than 7 days

    Facility Type

    Required Certifications

    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - Current certification by AAP, AHA, or Canadian Paediatric Society
    • Chemotherapy Certification (if applicable)
    • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) Certification (if applicable)
    • Fire Card (required; may be completed up to 30 days post-start if all attempts made prior)
    • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) (if applicable)
    • NIH Stroke Certification (required every 2 years)
    • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) Certification (if applicable)
    • IV Certification (for LVN/LPN/Other, if applicable)
    • State License (copy of professional license required)
    • NURSYS Verification (for RNs)

    Required Competencies

    • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
    • Competency Exams relevant to specialty
    • Color Blind Testing (if specifically requested)
    • Fetal Heart Rate Monitoring Assessment or valid EFM certification for Labor & Delivery RNs

    Required Background and Documentation

    • Background Check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, updated annually
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start, updated monthly
    • Education Verification (3rd party) for all candidates; international education requires additional documentation
    • State-specific searches as applicable (e.g., Washington State Patrol Search)
    • Employment Application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors)
    • Minimum of 2 references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years (6 months for CNAs)
    • Skills Checklists updated annually (if applicable)

    Health and Safety Requirements

    • Physical Exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
    • Fit Mask test (annual, travel only)
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination
    • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 12 months, updated annually
    • MMR (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer, or declination
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer, or declination
    • 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
    • Seasonal Flu Vaccine during flu season or declination
    • COVID vaccine or declination
    • Respiratory Safety Clearance (annual for travel)

    Facility-Specific Requirements

    • Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background)
    • Completion of Providence Health and Services WorkRamp modules (Core, Specialty, Regional, and Regulatory) prior to start
    • Epic Access training modules (if applicable)
    • Compliance with Providence floating policy (may require floating to other facilities within reasonable distance)

    Additional Notes

    • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
    • Weekend rotations and department needs must be met.
    • Pending licenses accepted only if fully licensed by start date.
    • First-time travelers are accepted but will undergo clinical screening.
