Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (L&D) - Travel/Contract
Location: Attleboro, Massachusetts
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse
- Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
- Unit: 15-bed Labor and Delivery unit with inpatient rooming-in for infants; newborn nursery used as needed
- Patient Age Groups: Neonates and Adults
- Medication System: Omnicell
- Communication Method: SBAR
- Charge Nurse: Not required or preferred
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of L&D nursing experience required
- First-time travelers will be screened and considered
Certifications Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- AWHONN Beginner (required) for Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification
- AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced (preferred)
- Age Specific Competency Exam (required)
Prior Travel Experience

Compliance & Background Checks
- Massachusetts Statewide iCORI Release required
- Standard background check within 1 year of start date (7-year search including SS trace, county, nationwide, sex offender)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
- Massachusetts Nurse Aide Registry Search required for all travelers in MA
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year prior to start (no annual update required if contract is extended)
- N95 Fit Test within last 6 months (specific approved masks listed)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap: Proof of one Tdap after age 18, then Td every 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility guidelines (2-step PPD or equivalent)
- Annual TB questionnaire for past positives or pending TB tests
- Immunity or vaccination required for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (numerical titer required; declinations accepted)
- Varicella (declinations NOT accepted)
- Drug screen within 30 days prior to start (minimum 9-panel, marijuana testing not required)
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination or medical exemption required annually (declinations generally not accepted except for medical reasons)
- COVID-19 Vaccination required (medical or religious exemptions accepted with signed documentation)
Additional Requirements
- Badge photo (passport style, head and shoulders with plain background) required 2 weeks prior to start
- Compliance checklist, latex allergy questionnaire, personal information forms, and COVID exemption forms (if applicable) must be completed prior to start
- References: 2 professional references required for travel/per diem acute care positions (within 3 years)
