Job Opportunity: GI Lab Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Berkeley, California

Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Nurse with a strong background in complex gastroenterology procedures, including ERCP cases. The RN will be responsible for managing nursing care from admission to discharge, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and disease prevention, and responding to medical emergencies.
Work Schedule
- Variable shift start time between 7:00 AM and 11:00 AM
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
- On-call: As needed
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse
- Prior travel experience: 6 months travel experience preferred (not strictly required but noted)
Certifications Required
- California RN License
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate patient care in accordance with nursing standards and hospital policies
- Provide compassionate, competent, and cost-effective care
- Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, including physical, psychosocial, and educational needs
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
- Administer treatments and medications timely and accurately
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare team members
- Respond calmly and competently to emergencies
- Monitor patient acuity and adjust care priorities accordingly
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check including SSN trace, county searches, sex offender search, education verification, and FACIS Level 3 screening
- Drug screening (9-panel, excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law) within 6 months of start
- TB screening and annual renewal (negative QGold, TSPOT, or PPD)
- Immunizations and titers:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
- Hepatitis B series or declination
- Varicella
- Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov-Apr) or mask requirement
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit test for approved masks within 1 year, renewed annually
- Respiratory safety clearance prior to start, renewed annually
- Education verification and transcript/diploma as applicable
- Employment history verification for 7 years with no gaps
