    Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)

    Job Description

    • Float Pool position in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units
    • Requires 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse
    • Must have a current California nursing license
    • Locals accepted

    Required Certifications

    • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA required based on specialty
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - required based on specialty
    • Fire Card (must be obtained within 30 days of start date, issued by LAFD-approved instructor)
    • Additional certifications may apply depending on specialty (e.g., Electronic Fetal Monitoring for Labor and Delivery RNs)

    Required Competencies

    • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for ER and Labor & Delivery)
    • Other competency exams as applicable by profession

    Background Checks & Verifications

    • Standard background check including 7-year search of locations lived/worked/schooled
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM checks
    • HHS/OIG checks
    • Education verification (transcript, diploma, or equivalent)
    • Sex offender search
    • Employment application required

    Health & Immunization Requirements

    • Physical exam clearance within the past year
    • Fit mask testing within 12 months prior to start (acceptable masks: 3M Aura 9205+, 3M 1860 Small)
    • Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (2-step PPD, QGold, or T-SPOT)
    • TB questionnaire within 14 days of start
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer required
    • Hepatitis B series or positive titer or declination with proof of prior vaccination
    • Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer required
    • 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination (required during flu season: September - March)
    • Color blind exam (14-plate Ishihara test) required for Float Pool and other specified specialties
    • COVID vaccination plus booster or documented declination

    Facility-Specific Requirements

    • Photo for badge (passport-style)
    • De-escalation modules attestation (required for all candidates)
    • Assault Response Competency (ARC) training within 30 days of start (live 4-hour training)
    • Access request form
    • Arbitration agreement
    • Voluntary meal waiver

    Additional Notes

    • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
    • Candidates must have a current California nursing license in hand before starting.
