    Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

    Location: Whittier, California

    Job Details

    • Shift: 07:00 AM – 03:30 PM
    • Weekends: Every other weekend required
    • Call: Minimum 1 day per week, possibly 2 depending on vacation/sick calls; at least 1 weekend call per month, with opportunities for additional weekends especially in 5-weekend months

    • IV infusion pumps operation and starting/maintaining IVs
    • Obtaining 12 lead EKG/ECG and Activated Clotting Time (ACT)
    • Circulating Procedures
    • Use of External Compression Devices (C-Clamp, Sandbags)

    • Interpretation and Management of Dysrhythmias
    • Monitoring Procedural Sedation

    Experience Requirements

    • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or facility-specific declination (required during flu season)
    • COVID Vaccination or facility-specific declination (mask required if unvaccinated during flu season)
    • Fit Mask Test (within 1 year, renewed annually) if applicable per unit
    • Harassment Prevention Training (1 hour for non-supervisory clinical staff)
    • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) or Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) training with in-person component required for ER, ICU, and MS/Tele RNs (can pend start if online version completed, must complete in-person within 90 days)
    • Pass/Fail Testing:
      • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (Relias Advanced Dysrhythmia with Measurements) within 72 hours of signing, minimum 80% passing score, two attempts allowed
      • Proctored Dysrhythmia exam onsite during orientation (one attempt only)
    • Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam (passing score 80%)
    • Skills Checklist (updated annually)

    References & Employment History

    • Two professional references from Manager or above (Charge Nurses acceptable) required for clinical candidates
    • Employment application/resume with at least 1 year of relevant work experience and 7 years of work history if applicable

    Additional Notes

    • Facility-specific onboarding includes completion of Oracle modules prior to start
    • Photo for badge required (white background, shoulders up)
    • Facility requires completion of Interim Life Safety Measures prior to start
    • Background check attestation allowed if county searches are pending for travel/per diem workers
    • Religious exemption form available for mask fit test if applicable
