Job Opportunity: RN - Rehab (Travel)

Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Overview

  • Role: Registered Nurse (RN) in Rehabilitation
  • Specialty: Rehab (Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility or Med Surg)
  • Shift: 12-hour shifts
  • Weekend Hours: Every other weekend for travel assignments
  • Call Requirements: None
  • Required Certifications: BLS
  • Years of Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in Med Surg or Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF)
  • Prior Travel Experience: 1 year travel experience required
  • EPIC Experience: Minimum 13 weeks EPIC experience required
  • Float Requirements: No float required
  • Local candidates will not be accepted

Facility & Unit Information

  • Unit Type: Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation
  • Number of Beds: 49
  • Patient Ratio: 1:7
  • Patient Population: Adults requiring rehabilitation for stroke, brain and spinal cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries, and other conditions
  • Common Diagnoses/Treatments:
    • Hypertension
    • Blood glucose monitoring and insulin protocols
    • Feeding tube care, swallowing precautions, thickened liquids
    • Foley catheter care
    • Care of ports and PICC lines, starting IVs
    • CVA (stroke), Parkinson’s disease, post-craniotomy care
    • Spinal injury, brain injury, joint replacement
    • Supplemental oxygen delivery
    • Isolation precautions
    • Ulcer and wound care
  • Preferred Experience: Trauma patient care

Additional Notes

  • Skilled nursing experience alone is not accepted unless accompanied by 2 years of IRF or Med Surg experience
  • Dress Code: Scrubs and sneakers are acceptable; scrub color is flexible

This position is ideal for experienced RNs with a strong background in inpatient rehab or med surg nursing, who have prior travel experience and EPIC system proficiency.
