Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Facility & Unit Overview
- Unit: 5 West Medicine (36 beds)
- Staff: 50+ (Day shift: 1 charge nurse, 8 RNs, 3 CNAs, 1 HUC, 1-2 sitters; Night shift: 1 charge nurse, 7 RNs, 3 CNAs, 0.5 HUC, 1-2 sitters)
- Nurse-to-patient ratios:
- Day: 1 RN to 5-6 patients
- Night: 1 RN to 6-7 patients
- Equipment: Medical remote telemetry monitoring, Cerner Patient Observation (CPO), VC150 devices in every patient room, workstations on wheels, Tap and Go computer access
- EMR System: Cerner
Job Requirements
- Specialty: Telemetry Nursing
- Required Certifications:
- BLS (required)
- ACLS (required)
- NIH Certification (required)
- CMSRN (encouraged)
- Licenses: Registered Nurse License (valid in North Carolina)
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty (Telemetry/Med-Surg)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not specified (assumed not required)
Preferred Qualifications
- Leadership experience
- Charge Nurse experience
- BSN degree
Job Details
- Typical procedures: Preparation of patients for Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology (IR), and Operating Room (OR)
- Floating areas: Med-Surg units 3W, 5W, K8 (sister units)
- Dress code: Navy blue scrubs (top and bottom), white top with navy blue bottom, or all white
- Weekend shifts: Must sign up for 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (Friday, Saturday, Sunday count as weekend shifts on night shift)
