Job Opportunity: RN Perioperative Circulator - Adult Surgery
Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Registered Nurse - Direct Care
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
The Perioperative Circulator is a Registered Nurse responsible for planning, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating nursing care for patients undergoing operative or invasive procedures. This role requires clinical knowledge, judgment, and reasoning skills to address the physical, psychological, and spiritual needs of patients during the perioperative period.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect professional nursing care in the operating room.
- Continuously evaluate and document all aspects of patient care in the perioperative environment using the nursing process.
- Individualize patient care based on health status, age, and type of surgery or procedure.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 1 year experience in an acute operating room environment.
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
- Excellent understanding of AORN (Association of periOperative Registered Nurses) Standards.
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team providing specialized care.
- Basic computer skills.
Education & Certifications
- Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (or higher) from a board-approved program.
- Required Licensure: Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
- Required Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association.
- Preferred Certification: CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room).
Additional Notes
- No explicit requirement for prior travel experience.
- Specialty years of experience required: 1 year in acute operating room environment.
