Job Opportunity: RN Perioperative Circulator Adult Surgery
Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Registered Nurse - Direct Care
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
The Perioperative Circulator RN plans, coordinates, delivers, and evaluates nursing care for patients undergoing operative or invasive procedures. This role requires clinical knowledge, judgment, and reasoning skills to address the physical, psychological, and spiritual needs of patients during surgery.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect professional nursing care in the operating room.
- Continuously evaluate and document all aspects of patient care in the perioperative environment.
- Individualize patient care based on health status, age, and type of surgery/procedure.
- Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team to deliver specialized care.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 1 year experience in an acute operating room environment.
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
- Excellent understanding of AORN (Association of periOperative Registered Nurses) Standards.
- Strong organizational, planning, coordination, and evaluation skills.
- Ability to maintain good working relationships with colleagues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills.
Education & Licensure Requirements
- Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (or higher) from a board-approved program.
- Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Preferred Certifications
- CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) certification.
