Job Description
- Provide individualized patient care in accordance with departmental policies and the Nurse Practice Act.
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and supervise care in a patient care area.
- Collaborate with physicians, patients/families, and healthcare team members to deliver and coordinate a plan of care.
- Perform nursing assessments and document appropriately.
- Develop and update patient care plans based on assessments and patient needs.
- Participate in discharge planning and patient/family teaching.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate to the age and developmental needs of patients served.
- May work on other nursing units as needed.
- Act as preceptor and charge nurse as assigned.
- Participate in departmental goals, inservices, committees, and performance improvement activities.
- Maintain professional standards and comply with safety policies to ensure a safe environment.
- Utilize positive communication skills for conflict resolution and teamwork.
- Contribute to cost-effective patient care by monitoring time, equipment, and supplies.
- Demonstrate flexibility with changes in hospital or unit activities.
Requirements
- Licenses: Current California RN license.
- Certifications: Current BLS/Healthcare Provider status per American Heart Association standards.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year clinical Registered Nurse experience required.
- Experience with cardiac stress testing is preferred.
- Skills:
- Precise hand/eye coordination and finger dexterity for medication administration, IV starts, procedures, and direct patient care.
- Strong interpersonal skills to relate cooperatively with patients, families, co-workers, physicians, and staff.
- Critical thinking and prioritization abilities to formulate and evaluate patient care plans.
- Sensory abilities to hear, see, verbally communicate, and have tactile sense.
Contract Length
- Approximately 13 weeks (90 days converted to weeks).
Prior Travel Experience
- Not specified; prior travel experience is not required.
