Job Opportunity: CT Scan Tech

Location: Salinas, California
Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced
Contract Length: 13 weeks (90 days ≈ 13 weeks)

Job Description

• Perform diagnostic CT procedures (head, chest, spine, abdomen, pelvis, etc.) under minimal supervision.
• Assist physicians with advanced CT procedures such as biopsies, cardiac, vascular studies, bone density, and 3-D reconstructions.
• Perform daily and weekly quality assurance (QA) on CT equipment per manufacturer guidelines.
• Start intravenous lines (IVs) and administer contrast media orally, rectally, and intravenously.
• Operate Toshiba CT equipment (experience required).
• Enter technical data (scan type, slice thickness, scan time) into computer systems.
• Prepare patients by consenting, explaining exams, and answering questions.
• Provide patient care during procedures and transport (stretcher, wheelchair, walking).
• Assist patients with positioning on CT table and provide necessary comfort items.
• Perform related duties such as equipment malfunction reporting, cleaning, and supply replenishment.
• Assist with emergency medical treatment under physician direction.
• Participate in scheduling patient exams to maintain workflow.
• Attend department meetings and in-services to stay current on protocols and technology.
• Maintain continuing education units (CEUs) and CPR certification.
• Must be willing to perform X-ray duties in addition to CT when needed.

Requirements

• Licenses/Certifications:

  • CRT (Certified Radiologic Technologist)
  • ARRT (CT) certification
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA certified
• Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year as a licensed CT technologist (higher experience requirement confirmed)
  • Toshiba CT equipment experience required
  • Epic system experience desired (6–12 months within the past year)
• Additional:

  • Agency must provide radiation badge (not provided by client)
