Job Opportunity: RN - ER - Travel
Location: Moreno Valley, California

Job Description
- Assess patients on admission considering physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs
- Reassess patients’ health needs at least every shift and as warranted
- Establish and update individualized plans of care based on comprehensive data
- Administer oral, topical, and parenteral medications following the 7 rights
- Assess and document medication and treatment effectiveness and side effects
- Perform treatments and procedures adhering to nursing best practices, hospital policies, sterile technique, and patient privacy
- Document patient responses, pain management, discharge planning, education, and progress toward goals accurately and legibly
- Educate patients and families based on assessed needs
- Interpret diagnostic data and intervene appropriately
- Communicate changes in patient condition promptly using SBAR communication for handoffs
- Respect patient rights including confidentiality, safety, and participation in care planning
- Participate in multidisciplinary care planning
- Manage patients in restraints per policy and understand application criteria
- Follow National Patient Safety Goals and hospital policies including use of two patient identifiers
- Understand disaster plans and roles, including activation of Rapid Response Team
- Complete orientation to Life Safety Standards (Code Blue, Code Pink, Haz Mat, Fire, Oxygen shut off)
- Follow infection control policies and blood transfusion protocols
- Understand and appropriately use the Chain of Command
- Follow Core Measures and Vaccine protocols
- Perform advanced patient assessments and prioritize patient needs
- Care for patients across the age continuum from birth to geriatric
- Respond to minor to life-threatening illness or injury
- Complete ED skills checklist before first scheduled shift
- Understand patient flow in the ED including Rapid Medicine Evaluation (RME)
- Perform nursing activities related to admission and discharge
- Use the chain of command within the ED
- Understand the teaching/physician residency model in the ED
- Safely administer high-risk medications following hospital/ED policy
Requirements
- Specialty: Emergency Room (ER) Nursing
- Years of Experience: Minimum 4 years in ED and Level 1 Trauma (highest required)
- Prior Travel Experience: Minimum 2 years travel experience required
- Certifications:
- ACLS
- BLS
- CA RN License
- CPI Certification only
- TNCC or ATCN
- NIHSS
- PALS
- Experience in a facility with at least 40 beds
- Epic electronic health record experience highly preferred
- Some exposure to Pediatrics (PEDS)
- Travel candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
- Return to Office (RTO) maximum 8 days
Contract Length
- 8 weeks (interpreted from contract_length value of 8)
