Job Opportunity: Case Manager (Registered Nurse)
Location: Mission Hills, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Start Date: ASAP
- Floating Expectation: No
- Patient Ratios: 1:20
- Required Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care hospital case management experience, specifically in care coordination and discharge planning. Hospital experience is mandatory.
- First-Time Travelers: Accepted (clinical screening required)
- Weekend Requirement: Weekend rotation plus meeting department needs
- Licensing: California state license required. Pending licenses accepted only if licensed by start date.
- Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: No more than 7 days

Certifications Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Must be AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certified
- BLS (Basic Life Support): Must be AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certified
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Must be AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certified
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure): Current certification by AAP, AHA, or Canadian Paediatric Society
- CHEMO (Chemotherapy): Verify if required based on clinical track
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): If required, AWHONN or NCC-EFM certification acceptable
- Fire Card: Required; must be completed prior to or within 30 days post-start
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB): Verify if required
- NIH Stroke Certification: Required every 2 years if applicable
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute): Verify if required
- IV Certification (for LVN/LPN/Other): Verify if required
- State License: Must have a valid professional license for California
- NURSYS Verification: Required for all RNs
Required Background and Compliance Checks
- Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- E-Verify attestation required
- Education verification required for all candidates
- Drug testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Immunizations and health documents:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
- COVID vaccine or declination
- Respirator safety clearance required annually for travel candidates
- Fit mask test required annually (specific mask types accepted)
Competencies and Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
- Competency exams as required by specialty
- Color Blind Testing (if specifically requested)
- Fetal Heart Rate Monitoring Assessment or EFM certification for L&D RNs
Documentation and History Requirements
- Minimum of 2 references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors) with month/year format
- Skills checklists updated annually as applicable
Facility Specific Requirements
- Badge photo (passport style with neutral background) required
- Completion of Providence WorkRamp modules prior to start, including:
- Core modules for profession and region
- Specialty-specific modules if applicable
- Annual regulatory requirements
- Epic access training modules required for SoCal and certain other regions
- Compliance with floating policy acknowledgment (may be required to float to other Providence facilities)
Additional Notes
- Weekend rotations are required
- No floating expected for this role, but floating policy acknowledgment is required
- First-time travelers are accepted but will be clinically screened
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
