Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Operating Room
Location: Los Angeles, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
Required Qualifications
- License: Valid California RN license in hand
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA certified
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA certified
- Experience: Minimum 2 years as a Registered Nurse
- Background Checks:
- Standard 7-year background check including SS Trace and County searches
- EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks
- Education verification (transcript, diploma, or equivalent)
- Sex offender search
- Competency Exams:
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
- Other competency exams as applicable
- Fire Card: Must obtain a Blue Fire Card issued by an LAFD-approved instructor within 30 days of start (Red card not accepted)
- Health Requirements:
- Physical exam clearance within the past year
- Fit mask testing within 12 months prior to start (acceptable masks: 3M Aura 9205+ or 3M 1860 Small)
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- Required immunizations or positive titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (September - March)
- COVID vaccination plus booster or documented declination
- Color vision exam (14-plate Ishihara test) required for certain specialties including Operating Room
- Additional Requirements:
- Assault Responsive Competency (ARC) training within 30 days of start (live 4-hour training)
- De-escalation modules attestation
- Signed job description and various facility-specific forms and agreements
