    Description

    Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

    Location: Lakewood, California
    Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 13 weeks)
    Shift: Days (Monday-Friday, every other weekend)
    Shift Hours: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM


    Required Qualifications

    • License: Valid California RN license required.
    • Experience: Minimum years of experience not explicitly stated; assume standard RN experience required.
    • Certifications:
      • BLS (Basic Life Support)
      • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – required for certain units (e.g., IR & SICU)
      • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – required for some specialties
      • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – as applicable
      • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) – required for Labor & Delivery RNs
      • NIH Stroke Certification – required for all RNs except MedSurg, Tele, NICU, Behavioral Health, or Case Managers in specific cost centers
      • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) Blue Card – required for RNs in ER and Behavioral Health
    • Competency Exams:
      • Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam
      • Unit-specific competency exam (e.g., ICU exam for Burn ICU and Interventional Radiology RNs)
      • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam for Tele and MS/Tele RNs
      • Infection Control/Bloodborne Pathogens Exam (minimum 80% passing score)
      • Pass/Fail Testing (Medication/Calculation and Arrhythmia Recognition Assessment) for applicable units
    • References: Two references within 1 year from leadership roles (e.g., Nurse Manager, Charge Nurse) required.
    • Background Checks:
      • Criminal background check within 1 year, updated annually
      • Education verification
      • Government-issued photo ID required
    • Health Requirements:
      • Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually
      • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
      • Immunizations or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (series or declination), Hepatitis C (titer preferred, declination accepted)
      • Flu vaccine required annually by December 5 (declination accepted with masking requirements)
      • COVID-19 vaccine documentation for current season or declination with masking requirements
      • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year, updated annually
      • N95 mask fit testing within 1 year, renewed annually (PAPR documentation accepted if fit test failed)
    • Other Requirements:
      • Signed HIPAA acknowledgment
      • Signed facility-specific job description prior to start
      • Completion of orientation modules and safety manual acknowledgment
      • Skills self-assessment for RNs
      • Pyxis Agreement (for Travel and Per Diem RNs) due 5 business days before orientation
      • Review of workplace violence prevention and sexual harassment policies
      • Completion of first day instructions and orientation packets
