Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Registered Nurse

Location: Mission Hills, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Must have previous Cath Lab experience
• On-call required: 5-6 shifts every 2 weeks
• On-call schedule includes every other weekend (Friday 5:30 PM to Monday 7 AM) plus 1 weekday on-call shift
• 30-minute response time required when on-call
• Floating between units is not required
• Block scheduling may be accommodated at manager's discretion
• First-time travelers not accepted

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
• Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Fire Card certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience working in an Acute Care setting

Work Environment

• Acute Care Hospital, Magnet Facility
• Total staffed beds: 377
• Charting system: Epic
• Scrub color: Any (L/D & OR scrubs provided)

On-Call & Scheduling Details

• On-call shifts: 5-6 shifts every 2 weeks
• Response time: 30 minutes
• Weekend on-call every other weekend
• No floating between units

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) required and updated annually
• Immunizations and screenings required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
  • COVID vaccine or declination
• 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)

Background & Compliance

• Background check within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• Education verification required (nursing degree)
• Employment application covering last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors)
• Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment in specialty within last 3 years
• Various state-specific background checks and attestations as applicable

Training & Competency Requirements

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
• Competency exams required by specialty
• Epic training modules completion required prior to or shortly after start
• Annual regulatory and specialty-specific WorkRamp training modules required
• Fire Card certification required (may be completed post-start with approval)

Additional Notes

• Pending license not accepted
• Guaranteed hours: facility may call off once per two-week pay period
• RTO (Return to Office) restrictions must be included at time of submission

This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab RNs who are comfortable with on-call responsibilities and working in a fast-paced acute care environment.
