    Job Opportunity: RN - ER - Travel

    Location: Moreno Valley, California
    Employment Type: Clinical Nursing Travel
    Contract Length: 8 weeks


    Job Description

    • Assess patients on admission considering physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs
    • Reassess patient health needs at least every shift using nursing processes
    • Establish and update individualized plans of care based on assessments
    • Administer oral, topical, and parenteral medications following the 7 rights
    • Assess and document medication effectiveness and any adverse effects
    • Perform treatments and procedures adhering to hospital policies, sterile technique, and patient privacy
    • Document patient responses, pain management, discharge planning, education, and progress accurately and legibly
    • Educate patients and families based on assessed needs
    • Interpret diagnostic data and intervene appropriately
    • Communicate changes in patient condition promptly to physicians and healthcare team using SBAR communication
    • Respect patient rights including confidentiality, safety, and participation in care planning
    • Participate in multidisciplinary care planning
    • Manage patients in restraints per policy and understand application criteria
    • Follow National Patient Safety Goals and hospital policies including infection control and blood transfusion protocols
    • Understand and activate Disaster Plan and Rapid Response Team roles
    • Complete orientation to Life Safety Standards (Code Blue, Code Pink, Haz Mat, Fire, Oxygen shut off)
    • Follow guidelines for Core Measures and Vaccine protocols
    • Perform advanced patient assessments and prioritize patient needs
    • Care for patients across the age continuum from birth to geriatric
    • Respond to minor to life-threatening illness or injury
    • Complete ED skills checklist before first scheduled shift
    • Understand patient flow through ED including Rapid Medicine Evaluation (RME)
    • Perform nursing activities related to admission and discharge
    • Use chain of command within the ED appropriately
    • Understand teaching/physician residency model in the ED
    • Safely administer high-risk medications following hospital/ED policy

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid RN license in California
    • Minimum of 4 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
    • Trauma experience
    • Pediatrics experience
    • Minimum of 2 years of total travel nursing experience
    • ACLS certification
    • BLS certification
    • CPI certification
    • TNCC or ATCN certification
    • NIHSS certification
    • PALS certification
    • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

    Additional Information

    • Return to Office (RTO) maximum 8 days

    This position is ideal for experienced ER nurses with trauma background and prior travel nursing experience looking for a travel assignment in California.
