Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Crescent City, California

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse for a travel contract position. The role includes every other weekend shifts and on-call/call-off duties based on patient census.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in California
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
PALS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Job Requirements & Conditions

Must be able to work every other weekend
On-call/call-off shifts based on census
Compliance with facility-specific policies and regulatory documents prior to start
Annual updates for certain background checks and certifications may be required during assignment
Candidates with religious or medical exemptions for vaccines or fit testing must complete specific accommodation forms and obtain approval

Health & Safety Requirements

Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 90 days of start, renewed annually
Required immunizations or proof of immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination during flu season
Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per California law)

Additional Notes

Candidates must provide a full 7-year employment history with no gaps greater than 30 days without explanation
Unit-specific skills checklist and competency exams required and must be renewed annually
Physical exam must state "cleared for work" or equivalent
Fit testing failure due to facial hair requires shaving and retesting; other failures may require PAPR training
Some certifications and background checks require renewal or updates during the contract
