Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Crescent City, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse for a travel contract position. The role includes every other weekend shifts and on-call/call-off duties based on patient census.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PALS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Job Requirements & Conditions
- Must be able to work every other weekend
- On-call/call-off shifts based on census
- Compliance with facility-specific policies and regulatory documents prior to start
- Annual updates for certain background checks and certifications may be required during assignment
- Candidates with religious or medical exemptions for vaccines or fit testing must complete specific accommodation forms and obtain approval
Health & Safety Requirements
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 90 days of start, renewed annually
- Required immunizations or proof of immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
- Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination during flu season
- Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per California law)
Additional Notes
- Candidates must provide a full 7-year employment history with no gaps greater than 30 days without explanation
- Unit-specific skills checklist and competency exams required and must be renewed annually
- Physical exam must state "cleared for work" or equivalent
- Fit testing failure due to facial hair requires shaving and retesting; other failures may require PAPR training
- Some certifications and background checks require renewal or updates during the contract
