Description
Registered Nurse - Case Management (Travel)
Location: Alexandria, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Information
- Location: First floor, main building, across from cafeteria
- Typical Census: 180-230 patients (including Women & Children's Health)
- Patient Ratio: 1 Case Manager to 40 patients (Monday-Friday)
- Number of Case Managers: 6 total (1 weekend option, 4-5 Monday-Friday)
- Equipment Used: Laptops, cell phones
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: MediTech, Midas
Job Description
- Perform daily interviews with patients and families face-to-face
- Conduct daily Medical Decision Reviews (MDRs) on each unit
- Complete InterQual reviews on every patient, including Observation reviews, Discharge Planning Evaluations (DPEs), and discharge planning
- Float throughout the entire hospital, including Women & Children's Health and Emergency Department
- Follow hospital guidelines and policies strictly
- Rotating weekends required (Saturday & Sunday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
- No on-call duties
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
- Minimum 1 year of case management experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
- Experience with Utilization Review, including InterQual
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of local area resources
- Familiarity with NATE (Nurse Assessment and Treatment Evaluation)
Work Attire
- Caribbean Blue scrubs with white jacket

- Able to get along well with others
- Confident and not shy or timid
