Registered Nurse - OR

Location: Salinas, California

Contract Length: Approximately 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide individualized patient care in the Operating Room according to departmental policies and the Nurse Practice Act.
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and supervise patient care.
• Collaborate with physicians, patients/families, and healthcare team members to deliver and coordinate care plans.
• Perform nursing assessments and document appropriately.
• Participate in discharge planning and patient/family teaching.
• Maintain professional standards through participation in inservices, committees, and performance improvement activities.
• Facilitate physiological, psychosocial, and spiritual care of patients.
• Utilize positive communication skills for conflict resolution and teamwork.
• Monitor use of time, equipment, and supplies to contribute to cost-effective care.
• Comply with safety policies to ensure a safe environment for employees, patients, and visitors.
• Demonstrate flexibility with changes in hospital or unit activities.
• May act as preceptor and charge nurse as assigned.
• May be required to work on other nursing units based on staffing needs.
• Scrub skills are a plus.

Specialty Focus

• Heavy emphasis on orthopedic and neurological cases.
• Programs include robotics (daVinci), bariatrics, open heart surgery, TAVRs, ophthalmology, gynecology, general surgery, ENT, thoracic, vascular, endovascular, and plastics.

Required Qualifications

• Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification as per American Heart Association standards.
• Minimum of 1 year clinical RN experience preferred in specialty areas.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system preferred.
