Registered Nurse - Inpatient Rehab

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Job Description

• Provide nursing care in an inpatient rehabilitation setting with high acuity patients.
• Work in a 49-bed acute inpatient rehabilitation facility specializing in stroke, brain and spinal cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries, and other conditions requiring inpatient rehab services.
• Function similarly to a medical-surgical unit; assist CNAs and respond to patient call lights for safety.
• Use mobility equipment such as ceiling lifts, Sara Stedy, Sara Plus, slide boards, vital machines, EKG, blood glucose monitors, and EPIC electronic health records.
• Patient ratio approximately 1:7.
• Shift options: 12-hour shifts (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM).
• Weekend and holiday rotations every other weekend.
• Call requirements apply.

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Wisconsin.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in rehabilitation, including at least 1 year in a skilled nursing or other 24/7 skilled care environment.
• Rehabilitation experience within the last year required.
• Experience in inpatient rehabilitation and long-term care settings.
• Med-Surg or inpatient rehabilitation experience related to patient acuity.
• Experience with EPIC electronic health records.
• BLS certification required.

Additional Information

• No float requirements currently, but may be required to float to a satellite inpatient rehab facility within 20 minutes in the future.
• Mandatory 30-minute breaks per shift (two 15-minute paid breaks for 12-hour shifts).
• Strict adherence to attendance and tardy policies.
• Orientation dates available throughout the year.
• Local candidates are not accepted for this travel position.
